Finance Manager - Wexford

Purcell O'Leary Recruitment have been assigned to recruit for the role of Finance Manager based in Wexford

The Finance Manager will work closely with the Managing Director, playing a key role in financial management and decision making, ensuring robust governance and financial discipline. The role will partner with commercial, operations, production, supply chain and technical teams, providing financial insight, cost analysis and finance & budgeting support across the business. The role will develop strong relationships with internal and group stakeholders, alongside external partners, such as auditors, clients, banks.

Responsibilities

• Manage the preparation and review of monthly management accounts (full P&L and balance sheet).
• Prepare and lead monthly financial review presentations to local and group management teams.
• Prepare month end journals including accruals, prepayments and depreciation.
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Review of monthly costs with department managers including variance analysis and identifying potential cost savings.

• Manage adherence to group credit management KPI's including group DSO (days sales outstanding) target.
• Assist commercial team with preparation of new product costings, including advising on the key drivers of product costs and identifying possible cost reductions to maximise gross margin.

• Prepare and analyse sales performance for commercial team including variance analysis versus budget & prior years by customer, sector and sales manager.
• Assist with the preparation of sales budget and sales forecasts for commercial team and management as required.
• Management of financial reporting adherence with IFRS standards, including CSO returns.
• Management statutory Revenue / HMRC returns including Irish & UK VAT returns, Form 46G Return & VIES / Intrastat and all associated customs documentation.
• Ensuring Binding Tariff Information (BTI) is maintained and updated as required.
• Manage the statutory financial audit in a timely manner to comply with strict group audit deadlines.
• Monitor cashflow and working capital.

Qualifications for the Finance Manager

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Proficient with Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Oracle or similar ERP system
• Experience of Credit Management Systems (MyDSO Manager, Sidetrade, Creditsafe) would be preferrable
• Ideally, experience in a manufacturing or operationally focused business
• Proven track record in financial control, management, accounting, budgeting and forecasting
• Ability to act as a commercial partner to senior leadership and operational teams
