Job Description
Responsibilities
  • Work with the Hospital Director and Senior Management Team to develop the hospital's business strategy.
  • Provide leadership in translating and implementing the hospital strategy into operational practice, delivering on business objectives and annual operating plans for P&L and working capital.
  • Deliver insightful analysis to support decision making and improve performance; support and develop the financial, operational and commercial decision making of staff and teams.
  • Add value by helping managers push boundaries and promote risk taking to develop and deliver a differentiated service to consultants and patients.
  • Support business development by maximizing resource allocation, enabling the hospital to expand its reach into existing and new markets.
  • Deliver decision support, financial and operational reporting to ensure efficient and effective operation in compliance with corporate standards.
  • Promote a commercial culture of continuous improvement with colleagues, delivering the highest quality processes and services to consultants and patients while meeting the hospital's strategic plans.
  • Ensure the processes and structures of the hospital support robust data collection and the delivery of accurate and meaningful monthly performance management information.
  • Ensure the efficient and profitable delivery of patient services and NHS contracting.
Qualifications
  • Have experience of best in class implementation and BAU delivery of performance management systems and solutions.
  • A commercially astute qualified accountant with significant experience in a financial role within the healthcare sector.
  • Proficient in PC applications, ideally fully conversant with SAP and Microsoft Office, and able to adopt and contribute to new systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; an effective communicator (both written and oral) who inspires confidence, influences others and builds appropriate working relationships.
  • Role model high standards of personal integrity, initiative and proactive pursuit of personal development.
