Job Description

A dynamic, multi-entity organisation operating across several fast-paced sectors is seeking an experienced Finance Director to lead its financial strategy, operations and transformation agenda. With turnover in excess of £100M and a diverse asset base, the business is entering an exciting phase of growth, optimisation and investment activity.

The Finance Director will own all aspects of financial leadership across a complex group structure, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting and strategic insight to support business performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all day-to-day finance operations, including month-end close, group consolidation, statutory compliance, financial controls and audit delivery.
  • Lead, mentor and develop a multi-level finance team including a Financial Controller, Finance Manager and transactional finance staff.
  • Drive financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis and corporate finance activities.
  • Lead all M&A activity, including financial due diligence, deal structuring and post-acquisition integration.
  • Partner with senior leadership, shareholders, lenders, auditors, legal teams and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment and deliver strategic initiatives.
  • Manage complex financing activities, including successful debt refinancing supported by strong financial modelling and stakeholder management.
  • Deliver cost optimisation initiatives, achieving significant savings through process improvement and disciplined cost control.
  • Provide clear, high-quality board-level reporting and support long-term strategic planning.
  • Lead ERP system implementation to enhance financial processes, real-time insights and overall reporting efficiency.
About You
  • A proven senior finance leader with experience in multi-entity environments.
  • Strong technical accounting background with a track record of improving financial controls and reporting quality.
  • Demonstrable experience in M&A, corporate finance and stakeholder engagement.
  • A strategic thinker who can operate at board level while maintaining hands on oversight of financial operations.
  • Experienced in systems transformation, ideally including ERP implementation.
  • Commercially astute, solutions driven and comfortable operating in fast-paced, evolving environments.
