If so, we have an exciting opportunity for exceptional individuals with the passion and drive to work alongside colleagues and provide financial oversight, scrutiny and challenge to enable us to progress the professional regulation of nutritionists in the UK and beyond.
We are looking for a new member to join our Finance Committee and work with our highly committed staff team to support us in achieving our vision of everyone being empowered to improve health and wellbeing through nutrition grounded in science.
Who are we?We are the Association for Nutrition (AfN) - the independent regulator for Registered Nutritionists and a registered charity. Our mission is to protect and benefit the public by maintaining the UK Voluntary Register of Nutritionists (UKVRN) - a register of competent, qualified professionals who meet our rigorous standards for evidence based nutrition practice.
About the Finance CommitteeThe Finance Committee is a sub committee of the AfN Council. It plays a vital role in overseeing, scrutinising and challenging the organisation's financial activities, and provides assurance to the Council on financial matters.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who has:
- A keen eye for detail
- An interest in and understanding of the importance of finance
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Confidence to challenge constructively
- A collaborative, diplomatic approach with sound judgement
- Three online meetings per year, approx. 2 hours each
- Pre reading of papers (circulated one week in advance)
- Occasional follow up actions between meetings
- This is a voluntary, unremunerated role, but travel and subsistence expenses will be reimbursed in line with our policy if face to face meetings are required.
