Job summary

This job is a temporary post to cover maternity leave for up to a 12 month period.

The specific purpose of the role is to support a high-quality management accounting service to non-finance budget holders, offering advice on complex financial issues

The role will support NHS Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly ICB business planning, and commissioning to deliver local health services which are high quality, effective and within appropriate governance frameworks. You will deliver an effective financial service supporting managers and staff across NHS Cornwall and the isles of Scilly ICB.

Main duties of the job

Maintaining ledger records to a high standard and keeping a full audit trail ofagreed changes.

Ensure a high quality management accounting service is provided to budgetholders.

Provide high quality management accounting support relating to Commissioned/acute services.

Assisting in the on-going maintenance of the roll-over budget calculations,including the calculation and recording of all budget requirements andencompassing the identification and calculation of the current year and fullyear effects of all adjustments. This will include the construction andmaintenance of pivot tables and spreadsheets to allow for appropriatefinancial analysis and forecasting. The financial outcomes of this analysis tobe reported to the Finance Business Partners.

The post requires using a computer on a daily basis with speed and accuracy.This includes reconciliation of computerised control systems. Developingspread sheets and undertaking enquiries on several financial based systems.

To have the responsibility for the production of accurate, detailed monthlyfinance reports for managers, including forecasts of the full year position, forincorporation into CIOS ICB's overall financial reports to the Governing Body.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • oCertificate Level/Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) member or equivalent experience to degree level
