Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially minded Finance Business Partner to join and play a pivotal role in a large-scale digital transformation programme within a global, private equity-backed organisation.

Working directly with the CFO and partnering closely with the CIO and senior technology leadership team, this is a high-profile position that sits at the heart of a business-wide transformation agenda. Over the next 12-18 months, the organisation will be carving out and implementing a standalone technology landscape, creating a unique opportunity to influence strategic investment decisions, major technology programmes, vendor negotiations, and operating model design.

This role is ideally suited to a finance professional who understands both the numbers and the technology, and who is comfortable engaging with architects, engineering teams, procurement, operations, and executive stakeholders across a global business.

What you'll be doing:
  • Act as the strategic finance lead for the Digital and Technology function, partnering closely with the CIO and wider leadership team.
  • Support a major transformation programme involving the separation and creation of a standalone technology environment.
  • Provide financial oversight across a complex technology estate consisting of 1,000+ applications, cloud infrastructure, software licensing, digital programmes, and vendor relationships.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, scenario modelling, and investment appraisal activities for the technology function.
  • Develop business cases and ROI models for strategic technology investments and transformation initiatives.
  • Drive financial governance across technology spend, including Capex, Opex, cloud costs, infrastructure, software, and programme expenditure.
  • Partner with procurement and operational teams on major supplier negotiations, contracts, tenders, and commercial agreements.
  • Deliver meaningful financial insight that supports decision-making across technology, operations, and senior leadership teams.
  • Monitor transformation benefits realisation, cost optimisation opportunities, and value creation initiatives.
  • Support executive-level presentations and investment recommendations.
What we're looking for:
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Significant experience in FP&A, commercial finance, business partnering, or digital finance leadership roles.
  • Experience working within a PE-backed business environment ideal
  • Proven involvement in large-scale transformation, carve-out, separation, or major change programmes.
  • Strong understanding of technology cost drivers including cloud, SaaS, infrastructure, application portfolios, managed services, and software licensing.
  • Experience supporting CIOs, technology leadership teams, or digital functions.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience negotiating contracts, supplier agreements, and tender processes.
  • Exposure to global organisations and experience operating across multiple regions and stakeholder groups.
  • Excellent financial modelling, forecasting, and investment appraisal capabilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both finance and technical audiences, understanding technology terminology and operating models.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to challenge, influence, and support senior executives.
Why Join?
  • High-visibility role with direct exposure to the CFO, CIO, and executive leadership team.
  • Opportunity to influence a significant digital transformation programme from inception through delivery.
  • Work across architecture, engineering, operations, procurement, and technology leadership functions.
  • Play a key role in shaping the future technology landscape of a global organisation.
  • Significant scope to drive value creation, cost optimisation, and strategic decision-making during a critical period of change.
