Job Description
THE COMPANY:

Our client is a boutique wealth management firm, looking to hire a File Reviewer to undertake high-quality reviews of client files to ensure that advice is suitable, compliant and clearly evidenced.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Review client files, advice reports and supporting documentation to assess suitability, appropriateness and compliance with FCA rules (COBS, PROD, SYSC, Consumer Duty).
  • Assess the suitability of pension switches/transfers, investment recommendations, protection advice and ongoing service propositions.
  • Identify documentation gaps, inconsistencies or risks
  • Ensure all advice and record-keeping meets FCA requirements, business policies and Consumer Duty outcomes.
  • Highlight potential rule breaches or conduct risks to senior compliance staff.
  • Maintain awareness of evolving regulatory expectations and apply them in day-to-day reviews.
  • Produce clear, concise review reports with risk ratings and required actions.
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to advisers and paraplanners
  • Track and follow up on remedial actions to ensure timely completion.
  • Identify recurring issues or training needs and contribute to thematic reviews.
  • Support enhancements to suitability templates, advice frameworks and compliance monitoring tools.
  • Participate in training sessions or workshops to drive continuous improvement across the advisory function.
  • Maintain accurate records of reviews, outcomes and risk classifications.
  • Contribute to compliance MI reporting for senior management and Board oversight.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Experience in file reviewing, suitability assessment, paraplanning or compliance monitoring within wealth management or financial planning.
  • Strong working knowledge of FCA rules (COBS, PROD, SYSC) and Consumer Duty requirements.
  • Solid understanding of investment products, pensions, protection and suitability principles.
  • High attention to detail, analytical capability and strong written communication skills.
  • A collaborative team player who supports colleagues across the business
