Job Description

A well-established packaging machinery manufacturer is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join their growing UK service team. This is an exciting opportunity for a multi skilled engineer (Mechanical bias) to join a respected manufacturer supplying industrial bag closing and packaging machinery across multiple sectors including food, agriculture and chemicals.

£40,000 - £48,000 + Overtime + Door-to-Door Pay + Company Vehicle

Location: Northwest

  • UK/IRE travel required - customer site visits nationwide

Responsibilities

  • Installing, servicing, maintaining and repairing industrial bagging and packaging machinery at customer sites across the UK.
  • Carrying out mechanical work including chains, bearings, sprockets, gearboxes, belts, shafts and general moving components.
  • Working with pneumatics and mechanical drive systems.
  • Supporting basic electrical fault finding when required (motors, sensors, drives).
  • Diagnosing and resolving faults with minimal supervision.
  • Interpreting mechanical drawings and basic electrical schematics.
  • Delivering high levels of customer service and representing the business professionally on site.

Key Requirements

  • 2+ years' experience in a mechanical engineering role (packaging experience advantageous but not essential).
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding ability.
  • Experience working on industrial machinery.
  • Intermediate electrical knowledge (1-phase / 3-phase) beneficial.
  • Engineering qualification Level 3 or above (mechanical preferred).
  • Comfortable working independently in a field-based position.
  • Full UK driving licence.
