Role: Field Service Engineer

Location: Liverpool - with travel

Salary: Up to £50,000 depending on experience

We are seeking a versatile and hands on Field Service Engineer to join our expanding service team based in Liverpool.

You will deliver a broad range of engineering services across the UK and, where required, internationally, including offshore and marine sectors. The role combines workshop based preparation and refurbishment with on site service, fault investigation, and system commissioning.

• Conduct service, maintenance, life extension, upgrades, and commissioning of electrical switchgear and related equipment
• Prepare, test, and refurbish systems in the workshop for deployment
• Respond to technical queries from customers, providing practical and professional support
• Undertake pre mobilisation planning, including risk assessments, method statements, and job preparation
• Execute fault finding, breakdown investigations, and repair of switchgear systems
• Perform protection relay testing, upgrade, and generate associated reports
• Lead on site safely, coordinating with subcontractors or client teams where applicable
• Produce accurate technical documentation, service reports, and expense submissions
• Participate in out of hours callouts when required
• Promote and maintain a strong Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) culture both internally and on customer sites

• Time served electrical apprenticeship or equivalent
• Qualification in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical experience
• Good understanding of electrical switchgear operation, maintenance, and fault finding
• Ability to produce clear, concise technical reports
• Customer focused with a commitment to delivering high quality service
• Able to manage a diverse and dynamic workload
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Methodical, safety conscious approach to engineering tasks
• Team player who can also work independently
