Overview

Field Service Engineer - Mechanical & Hydraulic Systems
Based in Dudley
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum (negotiable depending on experience)
Full-Time, Permanent

The Role

As a Field Service Engineer, you will carry out servicing, repairs, installations, and commissioning of mechanical and hydraulic press machinery both in the UK and occasionally overseas. This is a hands-on role that requires a high level of mechanical competence, professionalism, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Service and repair mechanical and hydraulic presses at customer sites.
  • Assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery.
  • Perform basic electrical fault finding and troubleshooting.
  • Use measuring equipment and hand tools accurately (including drilling and tapping).
  • Work safely in accordance with company Health & Safety and Quality policies.
  • Produce risk assessments and method statements where required.
  • Read and interpret engineering and hydraulic drawings.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines.
Key Skills & Qualifications
  • BTEC / City & Guilds in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience working with mechanical and hydraulic systems.
  • Competent use of measuring tools and workshop equipment.
  • Understanding of H&S practices and documentation.
  • Basic electrical knowledge (advantageous).
  • Forklift Operator's Certificate / IPAF (advantageous, training can be provided).

  • Smart, professional appearance.
  • Full UK driving licence and valid passport (for occasional overseas travel).
  • Non-smoker/vaper preferred.
