Overview 
Field Service Engineer - Mechanical & Hydraulic Systems
Based in Dudley
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum (negotiable depending on experience)
Full-Time, Permanent
As a Field Service Engineer, you will carry out servicing, repairs, installations, and commissioning of mechanical and hydraulic press machinery both in the UK and occasionally overseas. This is a hands-on role that requires a high level of mechanical competence, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities- Service and repair mechanical and hydraulic presses at customer sites.
- Assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery.
- Perform basic electrical fault finding and troubleshooting.
- Use measuring equipment and hand tools accurately (including drilling and tapping).
- Work safely in accordance with company Health & Safety and Quality policies.
- Produce risk assessments and method statements where required.
- Read and interpret engineering and hydraulic drawings.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines.
- BTEC / City & Guilds in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Proven experience working with mechanical and hydraulic systems.
- Competent use of measuring tools and workshop equipment.
- Understanding of H&S practices and documentation.
- Basic electrical knowledge (advantageous).
- Forklift Operator's Certificate / IPAF (advantageous, training can be provided).
- Reliable, self-motivated, and enthusiastic.
- Flexible and keen to learn.
- Strong communication skills.
- Smart, professional appearance.
- Full UK driving licence and valid passport (for occasional overseas travel).
- Non-smoker/vaper preferred.
- Competitive salary: £40,000 - £45,000 (negotiable).
