Location: UK & Ireland (Hybrid / Field-Based), preferred location is Reading/ Thatcham or surrounding areas.
Company Overview: A leading global provider of laboratory automation and life science solutions is growing its team and looking for a motivated and skilled Field Service Engineer. The company is known for its advanced liquid handling technologies and serves a wide range of industries with precision-engineered products.
Role Summary: We are looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to support the service, installation, and maintenance of automated and manual liquid handling systems. This is a customer-facing role requiring both technical expertise and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities- Perform installation, servicing, and repairs of automated liquid handling systems and manual pipetting equipment at customer locations.
- Provide remote technical support via phone, email, and other digital channels.
- Travel across the UK and Ireland for scheduled maintenance and urgent service visits.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues efficiently and accurately.
- Participate in training programs, including international factory training sessions.
- Foster strong customer relationships to support ongoing business.
- Accurately complete service reports and related documentation.
- Represent the company and promote its range of laboratory products.
- At least 3 years of experience in a field-based engineering role, ideally working with electronic or electro-mechanical capital equipment.
- Technical qualification (minimum HND/HNC) in engineering, electronics, or a scientific discipline.
- Knowledge or experience with robotics, automation, or liquid handling systems is desirable.
- Degree in life sciences, chemistry, engineering, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the UK and Ireland, including overnight stays.
- Must have a full, clean UK driving license and be eligible to work in the UK and travel to the EU and USA.
