Field Service Engineer - Combustion & Boiler Plant
Your primarily local region (UK wide travel when required)
Full-Time Permanent
Up to £45,000 per annum + overtime + vehicle + bonus and much more!
Join a leading industrial engineering provider specialising in combustion systems, boiler plant, and process support across public and private sectors. This hands-on role is ideal for a technically skilled engineer with proven experience in boiler house maintenance and burner systems.
What you'll be doing
- Perform planned/reactive maintenance on industrial boiler and combustion plant
- Diagnose, fault-find, and repair mechanical and electrical issues
- Install, commission and service gas-fired and process heating equipment
- Carry out performance testing, upgrades, and energy efficiency improvements
- Participate in out-of-hours call-outs and scheduled weekend/overtime work
- Generate reports and compliance documentation for clients
- Provide technical feedback and support ongoing improvement initiatives
- UK travel required with occasional overnight stays
Requirements
Essential:
- Full UK driving licence
- Commercial gas qualifications: COCN1, ICPN1, CIGA1, CORT1
- Strong experience servicing industrial burners and boiler plant
- Fault-finding skills across combustion controls and mechanical/electrical systems
- Familiarity with manufacturers such as Dunphy, Weishaupt, Saacke, Hamworthy, Nu-Way
Desirable:
- Additional gas tickets: CDGA1, TPCP1, TPCP1A
- HNC or equivalent in engineering discipline
- 17th/18th Edition Electrical, IOSH/Safety Passport
- Steam, hot water, thermal oil, or digital burner control knowledge
- Customer-facing and computer literacy skills
