Job purposeTo assist with a variety of tasks which will support the person who needs care and support to live their personal and social life according to their wishes and interests. This role involves overnight support.
About the employerThe employer is recruiting two more personal assistants (full or part time) to join a team of 6/7 caring for a severely disabled daughter in her own house.
Experience is not essential as training will be provided. Regular training and updates are offered in house and sometimes out of house or online.
The assistant will support a friendly and sociable lady who enjoys community activities such as swimming and outings.
Main duties- Social duties: keep in touch and socialize with family and friends, attend adult day groups, attend medical appointments if required, attend social activities such as swimming, cinema, and bowling.
- Personal care: support with bathing/showering, teeth cleaning, dressing, administering medication, eating.
- Domestic duties: support with grocery shopping, cooking, serving nutritious meals and snacks, cleaning, changing linen, laundry.
- Shifts are morning, late afternoon, evening, and a sleeping night. You will have your own bedroom and access to a monitor to check on the daughter.
- These duties may vary day to day.

- Female, over 25 years old.
- Full clean driving licence.
- Previous experience not essential; training will be provided.
- Willingness to undertake training.
- Flexibility to cover shifts where required.
- Enhanced DBS check required.
- Right to work in the UK.
Due to the nature of this role including medical & personal care, the potential employer will be considering female applicants only.
On call is required, and you must live within the Kidderminster area.
The position is funded by the Local Authority and is paid four weekly.
Hours of workFull time / Part time / Bank (including days, nights & weekends).
Rate of pay£13.01 per hour day rate & £13.01 per hour sleep rate.
Skills, qualifications, and experience- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to undertake training.
- Flexibility to cover shifts where required.
- Will be required to have an Enhanced DBS check.
- Right to work in the UK.
