Job Description

Huntapac Produce Ltd is a fourth-generation family-owned business which was established in 1942. Nestled in a small village in the heart of Lancashire, we specialise in growing, packing and distributing a variety of root vegetables.

Supplying some of the major supermarkets in the UK as well as independent retailers, wholesalers, food
service, caterers and food manufacturing sectors standards are consistently very high and a strong
management team ensure these standards are maintained at all times. Family tradition and a commitment to quality are still as important today as they were 80 years ago. This heritage has passed down through
generations of the Hunter family and ensures that Huntapac is supplying high quality produce whilst
embracing a rapidly changing food market.

Role:

Daily Duties to include;

  • Manage and maintain an efficient farm
  • Manage all contractors and farm staff that are transferred from other areas toyou
  • Management and control of all costs relating to the farm
  • Manage and motivate staff
  • Adaptability and flexibility to handle changing priorities and unforeseen challenges and situations
  • Management of farm related paperwork including the raising of Purchase orders on our inhouse system
  • To be able to learn, develop and grow with the Company
  • Understanding of agricultural technology, machinery and equipment
  • Develop and implement farming policies and procedures
  • Recruitment and training of new farm staff where necessary
  • Physical stamina to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ensure all farm staff are fully trained
  • Management and maintenance of all farm equipment
  • Maintain all service records of all farming equipment
  • Ensure that H & S working practices are adhered to within your farming staff
  • Attend training when necessary to gain additional knowledge and skills
  • Managing and controlling the stock and chemicals
  • Communication skills to interact with farmers and suppliers

Any other duties deemed necessary by your Line Manager.
Full training will be provided for any new tasks that may be given / expected.
