Job Description

One year of experience assisting professionals in one or more specialized social programs such as family services, children services, senior services, mental or developmental disability services, substance abuse programs, juvenile corrections programs, or occupational skills programs, or Possession of a current certification in child development, early childhood education, addiction counseling preparation or juvenile corrections, or 45 quarter hours, or 30 semester hours of college course work in sociology, psychology, early childhood education, criminal justice, human services, juvenile corrections, or occupational skills training , or An associate degree in a field not closely related to social work/human services and six months of human services-related experience (e.g., work providing assistance to individuals and groups with issues such as economically disadvantaged, employment, abuse and neglect, substance abuse, aging, mental or physical disabilities, juvenile prevention, health, cultural competencies, and/or inadequate housing). Experience providing equitable services with compassion to a diverse customer base, demonstrating active listening, understanding, and meeting people where they are in life Experience using organizational skills, prioritization, and time management to manage workload and adapt effectively in dynamic environments with changing priorities. Experience in engagement skills, including working effectively with unmotivated or unwilling clients, de-escalating hostile situations, and interacting professionally with the public, service providers, and clients in person, by telephone, and through written correspondence. Occasional travel is required for attending meetings, trainings, and other case related activities. This position requires occasional overnight travel. Some travel may be in inclement weather or hazardous conditions. Employee will work a professional work week with a flexibility of working four 10-hour shifts per week; hours of work may fluctuate based on service needs. Occasional, compensated overtime may be required, including evening and weekend work. During the training the work schedule will reflect Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. You may interact with a wide range of people including some who have experienced trauma and may exhibit challenges in controlling their emotions. You may encounter stressful situations that will require quick decision-making skills. This position requires frequent activity including, climbing stairs, walking on uneven terrain, assisting children into and out of car seats, this may include lifting, up to 50 pounds.
