Your Roleas a Support Worker within Family Assessment:
• Conductassessments to help families develop and maintain a safe andnurturing environment.
• Safeguardchildren and parents through continuous assessment andplanning.
• Build trustingrelationships with families, offering ongoing guidance andencouragement.
• Support parentsto reach their full potential, enabling them to provide carethat meets a "good enough standard".
• Deliver dailysupport, offer crisis management, and assist in the development ofparenting skills.
• Mentor andadvise parents to help them build long-term stability andresilience.
• Monitor andobserve parent-child interactions, contributing to healthyattachment and child development.
• Engage inactivities that strengthen family bonds and promote positivebehaviour.
• Maintain clear,comprehensive written records of observations, family goals, anddocumentation.
• Advocate forfamilies by working with community resources and professionalservices.
• Operateeffectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high levelof emotional awareness.
• Handlechallenges with resilience, adaptability, and a child-focusedapproach.
RequirementsOurIdeal Candidate should:
• Level3 Children & Young People's Workforce Diploma is desirable, butnot essential-full training provided
• Experienceworking with families in a residential or supportedenvironment
• Agenuine desire to help and support others, with a commitment to acareer in supporting families.
• Strongcommunication skills, both verbal and written, with good literacyskills.
• Patientand empathetic towards the complex issues and challenges familiesmay face.
• Prioritisesthe safety and well-being of children.
• Nurturingand supportive, with effective mentoring skills.
• Experiencedin safeguarding and creating a safe, stable environment.
• Self-motivated,able to work well under pressure, and adaptable to changingcircumstances.
• Ableto apply transferable skills from relevant life or professionalexperience.
• Stronginterpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationshipswith children, parents, and professionals.
• Alwaysacts in a professional manner, and stays calm under pressure.
