Family Solicitor (Legal Aid)

Salary: £55,000-£75,000 + bonus

Location: London

Panel Membership essential

You'll join a busy family team with a clear focus on legal aid domestic violence matters, with scope to support supervision and help shape best practice as the team grows.

The role

As a Family Solicitor, you'll manage a varied caseload with a strong emphasis on legal aid DV work, while contributing to team capability and supervision support.

Key responsibilities
  • Running your own family law caseload with a focus on legal aid domestic violence
  • Supporting supervision and day-to-day guidance within the team (where appropriate)
  • Advising clients with empathy, clarity, and strong technical judgement
  • Contributing to team growth and service quality (including business development where aligned)
What our client is looking for

Essential

  • 5+ years' PQE (or equivalent experience)
  • Family Law Panel Membership (required to support supervision)
  • Strong experience handling legal aid family matters, particularly domestic violence
  • Confident, client-first communication and solid file management

Preferred

  • Experience across broader family work alongside legal aid
  • Interest in developing a profile/following (not essential, but advantageous)
  • If you're 5-7 PQE, a clear ambition to develop longer-term (including business development) is important
Location and working arrangement
  • London
  • Office-based with up to 2 days per week working from home (max)
Salary and package
  • £55,000-£75,000+ (dependent on experience and overall fit)
  • Bonus (details to be shared at shortlist stage)
  • Hybrid working (up to 2 days from home)
