Family Paralegal

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a motivated and organised Paralegal to join a busy and well-regarded Family Law team based in Tiverton. This is a full-time, office-based position offering hands on experience and strong career development prospects within family law.

The team handles a broad range of matters including divorce, separation, children issues, domestic abuse and financial matters arising from relationship breakdown. You will be joining a collaborative and supportive environment focused on delivering high quality service to clients.

The Role

The successful candidate will provide support to fee earners while assisting with the smooth day to day running of the department. Responsibilities will include:

• Assisting lawyers with case preparation and ongoing matter management
• Drafting correspondence and legal documents
• Liaising with clients, courts and third parties
• Managing files and maintaining accurate records
• Supporting billing processes and general administrative tasks
• Providing wider administrative support to the team as required

The Candidate

• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Able to manage a varied workload and prioritise effectively
• Confident IT and typing skills
• Proactive, flexible and team oriented approach
• A genuine interest in family law

Previous experience in a legal or administrative role would be beneficial but is not essential, as training and ongoing support will be provided.
