Responsibilities

As a Family Liaison Officer you will build and maintain relationships with families of children with complex, challenging needs, working to enhance life opportunities. Key duties include:

  • Coordinating home visits to support parents and carers.
  • Exploring circumstances and engaging with local authorities, education, social services and health professionals.
  • Facilitating collaborative, effective resolutions and co ordinating admission interviews with the Head Teacher.
  • Delivering detailed inductions to families.
  • Providing referrals to local resources and additional support services.
  • Advocating for children and families, ensuring their needs are fully recognised and met.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Previous experience with SEN and working with families in challenging circumstances.
  • Expertise in multi agency work and knowledge of safeguarding legislation, child protection policies.
  • Strong contact network within the local authority and sector professionals.
  • Empathy, understanding and genuine passion for enhancing life opportunities for children and families.
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills.

  • Requires an enhanced DBS check (cost covered).
