Family Group Conference Facilitator Roles with Birmingham Children's Trust

Make a Difference as a Family Group Conference Facilitator.

We are seeking to recruit full-time Family Group Conference Facilitators to join our established, experienced, and friendly team.

As the largest Family Group Conference service in the UK, we work in partnership with vulnerable children and their families. We place families at the heart of making safe decisions and plans for children at risk of being taken into care or to reunify children back to family care by delivering high-quality Family Group Conferences for all families that want one. Children and young people are involved along with their wider family network to contribute and attend their FGCs and are supported by advocates from outside the family. Together, a family plan is agreed upon by all involved, and families meet again to assess progress and make necessary changes to protect children.

The position is full-time. We ideally seek someone with Family Group Conference experience who is confident and resilient when working in partnership with families in their homes, in the community, and virtually where needed.

You will facilitate FGCs and promote family-led practice with other teams and professionals. Therefore, confidence to work on your own initiative and the ability to work independently are required.

At Birmingham Children's Trust, you will receive continuous support, development, and training opportunities to help you reach your full potential in this role.

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience working with children and families from diverse backgrounds, including families in crisis.
  • Experience in organizing and leading meetings both face-to-face and remotely, with the ability to manage tensions or conflicts.
