Family and Childcare Solicitor

Our client is a well-established and highly regarded law firm based in Weston-super-Mare, providing high-quality legal services to individuals and families throughout Somerset and the surrounding areas. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a dedicated Family and Childcare Solicitor to join their friendly and supportive team.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with experience in family and/or childcare law to manage a varied caseload and contribute to the ongoing development of the department.

The firm is flexible regarding PQE and welcomes applications from candidates who can demonstrate the confidence and capability to manage their own caseload independently.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for handling a broad range of matters, including:

• Public and private children law matters
• Care proceedings
• Child arrangements disputes
• Domestic abuse cases and injunctions
• Divorce and separation matters
• Financial remedy proceedings
• Advocacy where appropriate
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships
• Providing high-quality legal advice and representation

Candidate Requirements

Applicants should possess:

• Qualification as a Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive, or equivalent
• Experience in Family Law and/or Childcare Law
• The ability to manage a caseload independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent client care and communication skills
• Strong organisational and time management abilities
• A proactive and professional approach to work

Children Panel Accreditation would be advantageous but is not essential.
