Role OverviewTXM Recruit is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager with engineering background to join a high-profile railway client on a 3-month contract. The role is based in Cambridge or Colchester, with a daily rate of £230 (PAYE) or £305.44 (umbrella rate).
Key Responsibilities- Manage the daily activities of the facilities management helpdesk and maintenance contractors.
- Oversee property contracts, ensuring compliance with technical, environmental, and safety standards, prioritizing customer service.
- Adhere to ISO 55001 Asset Management standards and annual accreditation requirements.
- Maintain mechanical, electrical, and fabric elements of the estate in compliance with safety policies and regulations.
- Identify faults and audit stations onsite.
- Administer facilities contracts within the asset management system.
- Project manage small projects from inception to completion, updating stakeholders.
- Support asset management team in trend analysis and maintenance policy optimization.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commercial and financial understanding.
- Knowledge of contract management.
- Understanding of safety regulations, especially CDM.
- Degree or equivalent qualification.
- Understanding of rail industry construction issues.
- Membership in a property professional body (BIFM or RICS) or working towards it.
- Basic knowledge of building management.
- Full driving license.
- NEBOSH health and safety qualification (preferred).

Location: Bishops Stortford, with travel to Colchester and Cambridge
