Site Operations DepartmentThe Site Operations Department ensures the health of mechanical and electrical systems, building maintenance and performance across data centers. This team serves as Vantage's face to customers and guarantees business continuity and operational excellence.
Position OverviewReporting to the Campus Director, the Facility Services Manager (FSM) monitors, reports, and manages services and vendors, ensuring optimal performance, compliance and service delivery across the campus. The FSM drives operational excellence, campus resiliency and coordinates cross functional teams to deliver a safe, efficient, high performing work environment.
Essential Job Functions- Management of all supplier contracts for data center infrastructure and services, ensuring that supplier performance aligns with company expectations and contractual terms.
- Monitoring and reporting on campus operations regarding reliability, sustainability, operational targets, and supporting budget creation and performance planning, while managing audit activities, compliance and customer requests.
- Promoting a strong safety culture and enforcing compliance with applicable health, safety and environmental regulations.
- Developing and implementing a comprehensive site facility service management strategy aligned with operational objectives and regional standards.
- Leading campus resiliency planning and execution, supporting business critical and emergency situations to minimize disruption.
- Partnering with Regional Operations to ensure compliance with Vantage's global and regional operating standards.
- Partnering with the regional Procurement team to identify, evaluate and select vendors and service providers for facility maintenance, repair and project needs.
- Evaluating current and future facility needs and contributing to strategic plans for enhanced operational efficiency.
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and implementing best practices for a secure and productive working environment.
- Coordinating office requirements for space planning, furniture, IT, security and other cross functional partners.
- Developing and delivering key campus reports for internal and external customers.
- Managing relationships with external vendors, service providers and contractors to ensure quality services and cost effectiveness, ensuring service levels are met, costs are controlled, monitoring vendor performance and taking corrective action when necessary.
- Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of experience in facilities service management or an equivalent role (advanced degree or professional certification is a plus).
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards in facility management within the operations sector.
- Knowledge of data center or critical infrastructure industries is preferred.
- Excellent planning and organization skills, with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities (verbal and written), capable of communicating internally with team members and externally with vendors and service providers.
- Proven track record in supplier management.
- Assertive, confident, and able to quickly build credibility within business and customer base.
- Ability to lead and engage people in a fast changing environment to achieve results through others.
- Ability to build strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and influence at senior levels.
- Completion of a background check is required.
