Facilities Assistant

We are seeking to recruit a part-time Facilities Assistant (cleaner) to join our team at St Anne's Centre, 729 The Ridge, St Leonards On Sea, East Sussex, TN37 7PT.

This is a part-time position averaging 22.5 hours per week on a fortnightly working pattern. Week 1: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday early shift for 7.5 hours per day, 30 hours in week 1. Week 2: Thursday, Friday early shift for 7.5 hours per day, 15 hours in week 2.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for self motivated individuals who can work equally well on their own or as part of a team, to deliver and achieve high standards of environmental cleaning and prepare meals for service.

We are looking for people who recognise the importance of a clean environment and food safety, as well as the importance of adherence to infection prevention and control standards at all times.

To protect the health and safety of our staff/workers, patients, and those attending our sites, we encourage our workforce to be fully vaccinated against COVID 19.

Job responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:

• vacuum cleaning
• damp mopping of floors, damp dusting of furniture/fittings, cleaning of mirrors and internal glass, sanitary ware (e.g. baths, showers, sinks, toilets), washing of tiled surfaces and paintwork, high dusting of walls and ceilings, floor cleaning
• food handling to support the provision of a meal service for patients in our care

Full training will be provided for the successful candidate.

Person Specification Experience

• Worked in a customer focused environment
• Worked as part of a team
• Used cleaning equipment
• Lived experience of Mental Health / worked for NHS

Physical

• Able to safely carry our manual handling tasks

Communication

• Good interpersonal skills / able to communicate with a range of people

Education

• Demonstrate grasp of functional skills in Maths & English
