Job Description
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC)

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the United Kingdom, employing approximately 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non clinical professions and roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million people, and to a wider population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.

Domestic Assistants

Duties include cleaning all areas of our hospitals clinical and non clinical locations - activities will include wet mopping, vacuuming, emptying bins, replenishing supplies, cleaning fixtures, furniture and toilet/bathroom areas. Portions of the role may involve catering duties on some sites.

Permanent, part time, back shift positions are available. Enhanced hourly rates apply for weekend contracts and for weekly contracts before 06:00 and after 20:00.

  • Clyde - Royal Alexandra Hospital and Leverndale and Associated Health Centres
  • North - Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Stobhill and New Vic
  • South - Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and Gartnavel and Associated Health Centres
Interview and Induction

Interviews will take place week commencing Monday 15th June 2026 at West Glasgow Ambulatory Care Hospital. Candidates must attend; a 3 day centralised induction is mandatory before starting.
