Fabrication Procurement Buyer - Construction (Flexible)

You will be working in the Cementation OU based in Doncaster where Skanska has been a trusted leader in piling and ground engineering. Our breadth of expertise spans every aspect of geotechnical engineering - from micro-piling to diaphragm walls - enabling us to deliver innovative solutions for the most complex challenges.
We are currently looking for a Buyer who will be responsible for effective procurement support to our Fabrication business stream from pre-construction through to delivery. Ensuring we develop and implement procurement strategies that contribute to winning work and the successful delivery of our fabrication projects.
As the Buyer, you will:
- Be familiar with, and demonstrate commitment to the requirements of the Health & Safety and Environmental Policies.
Minimise the cost of materials and plant supplied to Skanska.
Comply with Skanska Procedures and policy on procurement including participation in Audits (Internal/External).
Improve service level agreements with suppliers and internal departments.
Work and behave in line with the Skanska Code of Conduct and to align activities and programmes of work to the Skanska Policies and Procedures and the Purpose, Values and Culture.
Participate in the implementation of strategic procedural and practical changes to increase productivity and performance, including KPI's with the supply chain.
We are looking for:
- Degree level education, or qualified by experience.
Ideally, membership of professional body (RICS, CIPS), or working towards.
Experience of procurement in the steel fabrication and construction industry.
Some working knowledge, NEC
Experience of negotiating with suppliers and sub-contractors
