Extruder / Forklift Operative

Eastleigh £13.36 per hour 4 on 4 off

Manpower are currently recruiting for a Plastic Extruder / Forklift Operative on behalf of a growing manufacturer based in Eastleigh.

Due to continued growth and increased production demand, our client is expanding their team and looking to develop a reliable and motivated individual into a skilled extrusion operator, with additional responsibilities supporting yard and material movement.

The Role

This is a dual-role position combining machine operation and forklift duties within a busy production and yard environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operating and monitoring plastic extrusion machinery
  • Must be forward-thinking and a quick problem solver
  • Ensuring products meet strict quality standards
  • Moving materials safely across site using a forklift truck
  • Driving between local sites to collect and transport materials
  • Loading and unloading deliveries
  • Supporting production output and general yard duties
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised working environment
  • Adhering to all health & safety procedures
Working Hours & Pay
  • Initial training: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:00
  • Once trained: 4 on 4 off shift pattern (day shifts)
  • Typical shift hours: 06:00 - 16:00 (30-minute break)
  • Hourly rate: £13.36 per hour
  • Weekly pay
  • Temp to perm opportunity after 13 successful weeks
  • Work approximately 8.5 months of the year while being paid for a full 12 months
  • Christmas shutdown
  • £430 annual bonus voucher
Ideal Candidate
  • Valid forklift licence (in-house licences accepted)
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Mechanically minded with an interest in machinery and manufacturing
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Comfortable working with numbers and measurements
  • Good communication skills
  • Reliable, proactive, and able to manage workload effectively
  • Previous experience in a warehouse, yard, or production environment preferred
  • Keen to build a long-term career within extrusion or manufacturing
