The position is filled for the duration of an employee's absence. It may be possible - by mutual agreement - to extend the position.
Your personal sphere of influence:
The Faculty of Earth Sciences, Geography and Astronomy is one of the most diverse faculties/centres of the University of Vienna. With 480 employees, including 29 professorships and 12 tenure-track professorships in seven institutes/departments, we work for research and teaching around the topics of "cosmos", "earth", "environment" and "anthroposphere". As a third-party funding manager, you support this research and are thus part of our faculty third-party funding service.
What are your tasks:
- You support the project investigators in the initiation, application process (e.g. budget planning), and during the start of third-party funded projects.
- You manage selected budgets in the context of third-party funding.
- You contribute to informing and communicating about third-party funding issues.
- You work at the interface between researchers, faculty, internal university institutions (research service, human resources, finance, etc.), and university external institutions (funding bodies and project partners) with regard to third-party funded projects.
What you bring with you:
- You have a Bachelor's degree or specialized baccalaureate or equivalent qualification preferably in a field close to the faculty.
- You have experience in research funding and with third-party funded projects in science.
- You have a very good command of both German and English as well as good legal and adminstrative understanding.
- You like to work in a responsible, structured and accurate way and are good with numbers.
- You are service-oriented and like to find solutions.
