Reed is partnering with a respected global logistics organisation to recruit an experienced Ocean Export Coordinator for its Manchester operation.

This is an exciting opportunity for a freight forwarding professional to join an established international business that plays a key role in global trade. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating export shipments, delivering outstanding customer service, and ensuring operational excellence across a portfolio of customers.

The Opportunity

Working within a busy export environment, you'll take ownership of ocean freight shipments from initial booking through to final completion, ensuring customers receive a seamless and professional service throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate international sea freight export movements from start to finish
• Build strong relationships with customers through proactive communication and service excellence
• Prepare and manage shipment documentation accurately and within required deadlines
• Liaise with carriers, overseas partners, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure smooth shipment execution
• Monitor shipment progress and resolve operational challenges efficiently
• Support the delivery of departmental performance targets relating to service, quality, and commercial results
• Ensure all activities comply with international shipping regulations and internal governance requirements
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and enhance the customer experience
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain high levels of service and operational performance

About You

To be successful in this position, you'll have:

• Previous experience within ocean freight forwarding, export operations, or international logistics
• Strong understanding of export procedures and freight forwarding processes
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
• The ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities
• Confident written and verbal communication skills
• A proactive, solutions-focused, and commercially aware approach
