The Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) is seeking an Expeditions Officer to support its global exploration and field research programmes.
Working within the Society's specialist exploration team, the Expeditions Officer provides practical support to expedition practitioners and researchers operating in diverse and challenging environments. The role contributes to the Society's long-standing commitment to advancing geographical exploration by helping develop technical resources, supporting grant programmes, and assisting with the delivery of flagship exploration events.
This operational role plays an important part in ensuring the Society continues to provide rigorous, practical, and impactful support for its community of explorers, scientists, and field researchers.
Key Responsibilities- Support the development and delivery of the Society's expedition and field research programmes.
- Provide practical guidance and resources for expedition practitioners and grant recipients.
- Contribute to the development of technical materials and exploration guidance for the wider community.
- Assist with the coordination of exploration-related events and initiatives.
- Help maintain the Society's role as a global convening point for modern exploration and geographical research.
