Job Description
The Greyhound Inn is a welcoming, community-focused pub known for great food, warm hospitality, and a relaxed yet professional atmosphere. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Chef to lead our kitchen and take ownership of our food offering.
The Role - you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, freshly prepared food while leading and developing a small, dedicated team. You will have creative input into menus and specials, while maintaining consistency, quality, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, create, and develop seasonal menus and daily specials
Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
Manage stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships
Maintain strict food hygiene, health & safety, and allergen compliance
Control kitchen costs, GP margins, and waste
Work closely with the owners to grow and develop the food offering
About You
Proven experience as a Sous Chef ready to step up
Passion for fresh, quality ingredients and well-executed pub food
Leadership and communication skills
Good organisational and time-management abilities
A hands-on, reliable, and positive approach
Level 2 Food Hygiene (or willingness to obtain)
