PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

We're looking for an experienced, collaborative digital leader to join the BBC as Executive Producer, Digital Innovation, Gaming & Creator Content. This role is about delivering ambitious, editorially robust digital content that resonates with 16-34-year-olds.

You'll lead some of our most creative projects across gaming and social platforms - bringing fresh ideas that support our content strategy and uphold the BBC's editorial values. You'll work with a variety of BBC teams and platform partners to ensure our off-platform storytelling is innovative, impactful, and aligned with BBC iPlayer strategic objectives.
Sitting within BBC Television and reporting to the Head of Digital Development, you'll play a key role in how we engage younger audiences and evolve our digital offer.

WHY JOIN THE TEAM

This is a great opportunity to shape digital content for young audiences. You'll be at the forefront of creating original, youth-focused experiences across YouTube, TikTok, Roblox, Fortnite and others - developing content that deepens engagement and supports BBC's strategic goals.

You'll lead high-profile collaborations like BBC Creator Lab x TikTok, shaping how we work with creators and platforms. You'll also play a central role in the BBC's off-platform strategy, commissioning new work and overseeing editorial teams to drive innovation and consistency.

As a senior editorial leader, you'll ensure every project meets BBC standards, aligns with our mission, and delivers real value to audiences. It's a role that blends creativity and strategy, ideal for someone who thrives in cross-functional environments and takes bold ideas through to delivery.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:

  • You'll lead the development and delivery of digital-first content for young audiences, supporting the BBC's off-platform strategy and editorial standards. You will:
  • Oversee and lead on innovative content for youth-focused initiatives across Roblox, YouTube and other digital platforms
  • Take editorial responsibility for digital projects, ensuring all output aligns with BBC guidelines and goals
  • Oversee development and delivery of BBC Creator Lab x TikTok and other partnerships
  • Drive digital thinking by scaling up existing strategies and pioneering new projects
  • Lead the Youth Audiences Editorial and Innovation team, including decisions on contentious or legally sensitive content
  • Guide a multidisciplinary team focused on storytelling for youth audiences, supporting their growth
  • Manage relationships with other BBC areas like Children and News to deliver joined-up, strategic content

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Creative leader with a proven record in commissioning/producing high-performing digital content, ideally in youth or entertainment
  • Strong editorial track record, including complex decision-making in line with guidelines
  • Excellent knowledge of YouTube, TikTok, Roblox & Fortnite, incl. short-form content trends
  • Proven experience working with major platforms and brands on impactful content and partnerships
  • Extensive experience with talent, on- and off-camera, with an eye for emerging voices
  • Skilled in stakeholder management and cross-functional communication
  • Comfortable adapting to new platforms, with awareness of tech trends and emerging tools
  • Strong communicator able to translate complex developments for a diversity of teams-from commissioners to legal
  • Confident using digital metrics and insights to inform creative decisions
