Job Description

An established independent practice in Oldbury, West Midlands, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their team. The practice operates two branches, each with a distinct focus, offering a varied and engaging work environment.

Role Overview:

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be part of a team of Vets, RVN/SVNs, and kennel assistants. The role involves maintaining a high standard of inpatient care, assisting with surgical procedures, and communicating professionally with clients. Adherence to the RCVS Nursing Code of Conduct, meeting CPD requirements, and ensuring cleanliness throughout the practice are key aspects of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

- Admitting and discharging patients for routine operations

- Staying updated on preventative healthcare, product knowledge, and practice policies

- Running nurse clinics

- Ensuring the correct disposal of clinical waste

- Maintaining effective stock control and rotation

Working Hours:

The position involves working Monday to Friday, with 1 in 4 Saturdays (a day off in lieu). The practice is open to offering part-time positions. There are no OOH requirements.

Candidate Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you must be a fully qualified RVN committed to maintaining high standards of care. Strong communication and organisational skills are essential, as well as the ability to work well within a team and support colleagues. Adherence to professional dress code and appearance policies is also required.

Remuneration:

The practice offers a salary up to £35,000 p/a DOE & Hours.

The practice is a privately owned first opinion facility with two branches. One branch is more surgically focused, while the other sees some exotics, orthopaedics, alongside general practice and procedures. The practice is well-equipped with 3 surgeries per branch, digital radiography, an in-house lab, ultrasound, and dental equipment, a dedicated cat and dog ward, and isolation for infectious cases.
