Job Description

Bridgwater College Academy is seeking a proactive and highly organised Exams Officer to take responsibility for the full coordination and administration of exams across the academy. This pivotal role ensures the smooth running of all examination processes in compliance with awarding body regulations and internal requirements.

37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (Term-Time plus INSET days)

Salary: Band 6, Points 10-12. Actual starting salary: £23,626.12 per annum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full exams cycle from entries to results and certificates
  • Lead and train a team of exam invigilators
  • Coordinate NEA elements in collaboration with subject leads and the SENCo
  • Maintain secure handling and storage of confidential exam materials
  • Support access arrangements and ensure exam integrity on exam days
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and exam boards
  • Stay updated on legislation and manage examination contingency planning

What We re Looking For:

  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Maths
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines under pressure
  • Excellent ICT proficiency (especially Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience working with data and regulatory compliance
  • A collaborative and adaptable team player

It would be great if you also have:

  • Knowledge of Arbor MIS
  • Prior experience as an Exams Officer or within a similar role
  • Experience managing a team and interpreting regulatory requirements
