Searcys is looking for an Events Supervisor to join the team at the IET.

As an Event Floor Supervisor for Searcys, you will be responsible for the overall coordination and profitability of events, supporting managers and coordinating the team during events.

The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) is a multidisciplinary professional engineering institution, formed in 2006 from the merger of the Institution of Electrical Engineers (est. 1871) and the Institution of Incorporated Engineers (est. 1884).

The role involves working as part of an events team to deliver food, beverage, and event operations across various event spaces, including assisting with front of house operations and providing team briefings.

Job Type: Full Time

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure events are set up as per event sheets.
  • Deliver events on time as per event sheets.
  • Liaise with kitchen and events team to ensure successful events.
  • Plan and manage events both short- and long-term.
  • Maintain or exceed sales and profit targets.
  • Lead the event team to build customer relationships and achieve sales goals.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in event management.
  • Understanding of the event and meeting management process from conception to completion.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adaptability and solution-oriented approach.
  • Strategic thinking and critical reasoning skills.
  • Positive, self-directed, helpful, and calm under pressure.
