Joining a dedicated team, you will take the lead in developing and delivering British Future's events programme. You will also be responsible for generating sponsorship income and developing relationships with existing and potential partners and stakeholders, with a focus on maintaining networks with MPs and engaging them in relevant events and activities on key themes.
With at least 2 years' experience in events management or relevant transferable experience (such as in a parliamentary office), you will be a confident events organiser with experience in generating income and developing external relationships. British Future's focus is primarily on UK politics, so a strong understanding and interest in UK politics and the ability to work across party lines are essential.
Role responsibilities include:
- Leading the development of British Future's events programme, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities.
- Planning future programmes, including publication launches, keynotes, party conferences, and policy events.
- Managing content and delivery of various events such as panels, roundtables, and seminars.
- Organising public and private events with parliamentarians and civic networks, managing the charity's networks across parties.
- Generating sponsorship income, coordinating with current partners, and reaching out to potential sponsors.
- Drafting and managing agreements with partners, suppliers, and sponsors, ensuring value for money and compliance.
- Briefing event participants and engaging stakeholders across British Future's focus areas.
- Managing databases, email lists, and invitations for speakers and participants.
The ideal candidate would have:
- At least 2 years of experience in events organisation and management.
- Interest or experience in politics, especially issues of immigration, integration, and identity (desirable).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and maintain supporter relationships.
- Experience in income generation.
- Entrepreneurial, flexible, and proactive in identifying opportunities.
- Highly organised with excellent planning skills.
- Proficiency in IT.
- Commitment to British Future's values and objectives.
Conditions include:
- Permanent contract with a 6-month probation period.
- Salary: £32,000 to £37,000, plus pension contributions and 30 days annual leave.
