Job Description
Overview

Event Manager - Exhibitions at a leading media events business. Hybrid role with responsibility for leading across a design exhibition portfolio within the design and build events team.

The role involves driving strategic growth and direction while delivering on all commercial elements and liaising with the event team across departments in the day-to-day running of the event. The event attracts over 6,000 attendees.

Responsibilities
  • Full event management responsibility, strategy creation and execution, P&L delivery, budget, and floorplan management.
  • Commercial management - key accounts, partners, stakeholders, trade associations; contribute to the commercial plan and attend client meetings, with a focus on sponsorship revenue.
  • Day-to-day management of the event team (direct reports) and indirect management of centralised stakeholders (matrix management).
  • Build, develop and grow key partnerships, both commercial and non-commercial, to drive revenue and community engagement.
  • Plan, coordinate, implement and monitor all marketing communications to meet deadlines, stay within budget, and align with event marketing goals.
  • Develop a strategy for a comprehensive commercial campaign to achieve revenue and growth goals; oversee the digital strategy for the event.
  • Generate stand and sponsorship revenue through phone and face-to-face activities.
Qualifications & Profile
  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience as an Event Manager or Senior Sales Manager (strategy, P&L, campaign execution, stakeholder management).
  • Leadership experience with the ability to elevate a team.
  • Strong sales skills: objection handling, lead sourcing, and crafting effective partnership and sponsorship proposals.
  • Innovative mindset with awareness of industry trends and market needs to keep the event leading in the industry.
  • Excellent creative and conceptual development skills; strong time and project management; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
