Join our BOLD Team as BOLD Europe Investment Director!

Launched in December 2018, BOLD (Business Opportunities for L'Oréal Development) is a corporate venture fund investing across the beauty value chain through minority stakes in innovative, high-growth start-ups supporting L'Oréal's strategic goals. Our investment areas include Beauty brands, Platforms, Tech for beauty, and Science for beauty. BOLD provides startups with financial support, access to L'Oréal's expertise, global network, and mentorship. As part of the team, you will scout and execute investment opportunities in the Beauty, Health, and Wellness sectors worldwide.

Your role will include:

  • Monitoring the market and scouting potential investments in Europe within Beauty, Wellness, and Health domains.
  • Leading due diligence teams to evaluate, negotiate, and close deals.
  • Engaging with internal stakeholders to identify synergies with L'Oréal's business units.
  • Monitoring portfolio companies' operational and financial performance.
  • Managing reinvestment and exit processes.
  • Coordinating deal flow and involving L'Oréal business leaders for synergies.
  • Building an ecosystem of partner funds beyond existing relationships.
  • Tracking market trends and refining investment strategies.
  • Sharing market insights and potential targets within L'Oréal's network.
  • Participating in events, pitches, and conferences to connect with startups and funds.

Required skills and experience:

  • Minimum 10 years in venture capital and/or M&A.
  • Strong interest in the beauty industry, including biotech and hardware technologies.
  • Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple requests with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Experience working independently under time constraints.
  • Successful experience in both multinational/corporate and startup environments.
  • Strong business acumen with influencing and developmental skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and integrity.
  • Passion for innovation and business development.
  • Fluency in English.
