Estimator

Based in Ower, Hampshire

Role is office-based with occasional site travel

Full-time - reporting to Managing Director

Our client is growing and they re looking for an Estimator to join their team!

They are a leading fencing contractor operating across new build housing, commercial, schools and public sector projects throughout Hampshire, Wiltshire and surrounding counties. They re known for quality, reliability and delivering projects safely, on time and on budget.

If you have construction estimating experience and a strong practical understanding of site-based work, they d like to hear from you.

The Role

This is an office-based estimating role supporting pricing and tender submissions across all sectors, primarily new build housing and commercial developments.

You ll work closely with the Managing Director to prepare accurate, competitive and commercially sound tenders.

Occasional site visits may be required.

What You ll Be Doing

  • Reviewing drawings and tender documents
  • Preparing accurate cost estimates
  • Pricing materials, labour, plant and subcontract works
  • Comparing supplier and subcontractor quotations
  • Submitting clear and professional tenders on time
  • Identifying risks, cost savings and commercial opportunities
  • Supporting smooth handover of successful projects
  • Maintaining up-to-date pricing information

What They re Looking For

  • Experience in construction estimating, fencing, landscaping or related sectors
  • Experience pricing new build housing and/or commercial projects
  • A good practical understanding of site-based work
  • Strong numerical and commercial skills
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
  • Organised, methodical and deadline-focused
  • Confident using Excel and estimating systems
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • Experience working with housing developers or main contractors
