Your new company :
A well-established and respected civil engineering contractor operating across the North West, specialising in groundworks and infrastructure for major residential developers. With a strong pipeline of projects and a growing Estimating Department, they are seeking an experienced Estimator to join their commercial team.
Your new role:
As an Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing competitive tenders for groundwork packages up to £20m in value. You will work closely with the Managing Estimator and Contracts Managers to ensure accurate and timely submissions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing tender documentation and raising RFIs.
- Conducting site visits and risk assessments.
- Interpreting ground conditions from Site Investigation reports.
- Performing detailed take-offs and measurements using 2D/3D software and spreadsheets.
- S104 adoptable sewers & drainage
- S38 adoptable carriageways
- S278 highway works
- Earthworks modelling
- Substructures and floor slabs
- External works and private drainage
- Obtaining supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Building rates from first principles and preparing Bills of Quantities.
- Producing tender adjudication and submission documents.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar estimating role within groundworks or civil engineering.
- Strong understanding of roads, sewers, foundations, and substructure works.
- Proficient in take-off and measurement techniques.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with estimating software (e.g., Causeway, ConQuest).
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work collaboratively within a small team.
