Artemis are delighted to be partnering with a growing manufacturing business to appoint aProject Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to join a progressive business and play a key role in the implementation and optimisation of a new ERP system.
Reporting to the senior finance team, the successful candidate will support the day-to-day financial accounting function while taking a lead role in the finance aspects of the ERP implementation. Working closely with Finance, Operations, Procurement, Production, IT and external implementation partners, they will help deliver robust financial processes and accurate reporting across the business.
The Role:- Support the preparation of monthly management accounts, journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes
- Play a key role in the implementation of the company's new ERP system, with a particular focus on finance and accounting
- Work with internal stakeholders and external ERP partners to document processes and identify opportunities for improvement
- Assist with ERP configuration, testing and validation of finance functionality
- Support financial and master data migration, cleansing and validation
- Coordinate and execute user acceptance testing, identifying and resolving system issues
- Develop finance process documentation, procedures and ERP user guides
- Support the training of finance and operational users throughout the ERP implementation
- Assist with post-implementation reviews and ongoing system optimisation
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA / CPA qualified or part-qualified with relevant experience
- Experience supporting month-end processes, reconciliations and general ledger activities
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial data analysis
- Previous experience using an ERP or accounting system
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- An interest in systems, technology and process improvement
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with finance and non-finance stakeholders
- Proactive and organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Previous experience of an ERP implementation, system migration or business transformation project
- Experience within manufacturing or a stock-intensive manufacturing environment
- Understanding of inventory accounting, product costing, BOMs, manufacturing variances, wastage and yield
- Experience with UAT, data migration or ERP system configuration
- Experience documenting business processes and developing user guides
- Experience working with ERP implementation consultants or external technology providers
