Job Description

An established, friendly and collaborative equine practice in North Yorkshire is excited to welcome a Permanent Ambulatory Equine Veterinary Surgeon to its growing team. This opportunity can be tailored to suit an experienced recent graduate or a more established clinician, offering flexibility, support and genuine scope for career development.

Working from a York-based premises, the successful candidate will deliver high quality ambulatory equine care to an established client base, with the opportunity to develop and grow a caseload aligned to their clinical interests.

Role
  • Ambulatory equine veterinary services across a varied caseload
  • Opportunity to develop a clinical focus or area of special interest
  • Supported by an external out of hours provider
  • Initial 1:8 out of hours rota, improving to 1:10 from the autumn
  • One day off in lieu for every weekend worked
  • Flexible working patterns available
  • Salary: £40,000 - £65,000 per annum, dependent on experience
Facilities & Clinical Support

The practice is well equipped with modern diagnostic and treatment facilities, including:

  • Digital radiography and ultrasound systems
  • Upper respiratory tract video endoscopy and gastroscope
  • Extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ECSWT)
  • Mechanical dental equipment

The veterinary team is supported by a highly skilled group of RVNs and nursing assistants, with access to wider clinical collaboration and professional support.
