Environmental Compliance Advisor

Location: National

We are seeking an Environmental Compliance Advisor to support the Environmental Sustainability Leader in ensuring compliance with environmental legislation, standards, and company requirements. This is an exciting opportunity for an organised and detail-focused environmental professional who is passionate about sustainability, compliance, and continuous improvement. The role will support the implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of environmental systems, reporting tools, and compliance processes across the business.

Key Responsibilities Management Systems & Administration
  • Maintain the Environmental and Energy Management Systems (ISO 14001 and ISO 50001) and support integration with wider business systems.
  • Administer Intelex and maintain environmental records, reporting tools, and compliance documentation, including iGMS.
Audits & Monitoring
  • Support internal and external audits, inspections, and close-out actions.
  • Monitor environmental compliance, incidents, investigations, and lessons learned.
Performance & Reporting
  • Collect, validate, and analyse environmental data and produce stakeholder reports.
  • Track KPIs, objectives, and sustainability rating scheme performance (e.g., BREEAM, CEEQUAL, WELL).
Training & Awareness
  • Support environmental training and awareness activities across the business.
  • Maintain training records and monitor competency requirements.
Compliance & Legal Register
  • Maintain the environmental legal register and monitor regulatory updates.
  • Support communication of compliance requirements across the supply chain.
Business & Client Support
  • Provide environmental compliance support for bids, tenders, PQQs, and client requests.
  • Coordinate reporting and act as a contact point for the Considerate Constructors Scheme.
Qualifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong administrative and organisational capabilities.
  • Experience supporting or maintaining environmental management systems, ideally ISO 14001 and/or ISO 50001.
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance processes, auditing, and reporting.
  • Competence in environmental data management, validation, and reporting.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively across multiple projects and business functions.
  • A good understanding of sustainability ambitions, targets, and how they align across a large organisation.
