Job Title: Enterprise Architect

Job Description

This senior Enterprise Architect role sits within a major transformation programme and takes full end-to-end ownership of the technical architecture for a large-scale contact centre business. You will lead the separation of an existing technology estate into a new, independent environment, operating at a strategic enterprise level to understand the current landscape and redesign integrations, workflows, and operating models. Rather than focusing on individual point solutions, you will define and own the overall enterprise design, bringing together multiple third-party technologies into a coherent, scalable and future-proof architecture that underpins a modern contact centre organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the enterprise-level architecture for a large-scale contact centre technology estate, ensuring it meets current and future business needs.
  • Lead the separation of the existing technology estate from the current technology operations function, establishing a new standalone technical environment.
  • Analyse and unpick the current technology landscape to understand integrations, workflows, dependencies and constraints across the estate.
  • Redesign end-to-end integrations, workflows and dependencies to support a modern, scalable and resilient contact centre business.
  • Ensure the enterprise architecture aligns with business strategy, operational goals, scalability requirements and transformation objectives.
  • Design and implement a Managed Service Provider (MSP) model to support and operate the new environment effectively.
  • Lead the cloud strategy and build for the new environment, with a strong focus on AWS architecture and platform strategy.
  • Oversee the creation and hosting of applications within the new environment, ensuring they fit within agreed architectural standards and patterns.
  • Define and maintain architectural standards, patterns, guardrails and principles for ongoing and future platform development.
  • Act as the architectural authority and primary interface with third-party technology providers and system integrators.
  • Review and integrate vendor-specific solution designs into a single, coherent enterprise architecture that delivers interoperability and consistency.
  • Ensure the overall architecture delivers interoperability, resilience, security, and performance across all platforms and services.
  • Support the build-out of new technology teams aligned to the new organisational structure and operating model.
  • Influence and shape the future technology operating model for contact centre services, including processes, roles and responsibilities.
  • Provide architectural leadership and guidance across delivery, operations and transformation initiatives, ensuring adherence to the target architecture.
  • Engage and manage senior stakeholders effectively, communicating complex architectural concepts in a clear and credible way.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure successful delivery of the new environment and ongoing evolution of the architecture.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect working in large-scale, complex technology environments.
  • Strong background in designing enterprise-wide architectures rather than focusing solely on individual solutions.
  • Demonstrable experience separating or re-platforming technology estates and standing up new technical environments.
  • Deep understanding of integration architecture, including end-to-end workflows, dependencies and distributed systems.
  • Strong expertise in AWS, including cloud architecture and platform strategy.
  • Practical experience with contact centre platforms and technologies such as Avaya, Cisco, Genesys and NICE.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate credibly and influence at senior levels.
  • Strong enterprise architecture, solution architecture and design skills across application and infrastructure domains.
  • Ability to define and enforce architectural standards, patterns and guardrails in a complex environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Exposure to Managed Service Provider (MSP) models and their implementation in large technology estates.
  • experience working alongside system integrators and multiple technology vendors in complex programmes.
  • experience of enterprise-scale infrastructure design and architecture.
  • background in major transformation or separation programmes is beneficial, even if not specifically M&A-focused.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and concise way to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills to align diverse stakeholders behind the target architecture.
