This position is responsible for embedding integration capabilities within all architectural activities, ensuring frictionless digital operations and competitive advantage.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the vision and execution of the integration strategy to power seamless connections between business and IT in democratized and federated IT environments.
- Architect and continuously evolve enterprise integration capabilities that enable agility, scalability, and interoperability in digital and hybrid operating models.
- Build and sustain strong, trust-based relationships with stakeholders to align and advocate for enterprise integration standards and practices.
- Analyse technology trends, market disruptions, and operating models through the lens of integration opportunity, shaping business outcomes through integration leadership.
- Communicate compelling integration-driven future state architectures, using visual storytelling to enable stakeholder understanding and long-term planning.
- Support a variety of operating models (project-centric, product-centric, agile, hybrid) by developing integration blueprints, frameworks, and pattern libraries.
- Champion and communicate the enterprise architecture team's integration services, continually adapting them to emerging organisational needs.
- Coach architects and business stakeholders to foster an integration-first mindset and architectural thinking across teams and initiatives.
1. Formulation of Strategy & Guidance of Execution
- Partner with business and leadership stakeholders to identify opportunities for integration-driven transformation and to guide investments in integration technologies.
- Analyse current and future business/operating models, market trends, and technology shifts focusing on the strategic application of integration capabilities.
- Assess organisational readiness for integration-centric change through scenario planning and capability maturity assessments.
- Develop business models and execution plans in which integration blueprints are foundational for connecting systems, data, and processes.
- Translate strategy into actionable integration roadmaps, articulating how integration enables operational excellence and business agility.
- Position enterprise architecture as the organisation's integration consultancy, delivering agile, time-boxed integration services and advice.
- Define relationships between people, processes, technology, and integration patterns to optimise end-to-end value flows.
- Advise stakeholders on investment decisions, with an emphasis on integration strategies (e.g., APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures, middleware, hybrid cloud connectivity).
- Lead cross-functional teams in resolving integration challenges and addressing the implications of product and platform decisions on the integration landscape.
- Foster a collaborative architect community with integration as a unifying priority to resolve conflicts and align business and IT delivery.
- Design business architecture where integration capability is the linchpin for business and IT strategy execution.
- Identify key business drivers and outcomes, mapping them to required integration capabilities and technology enablers.
- Create, evolve, and govern diagnostic deliverables such as integration pattern libraries, capability maps, and reference architectures that guide investments and solution design.
- Detect and address gaps in integration maturity and future-state business/IT environments, recommending integration-first solutions.
- Define the resource, structure, and culture required to institutionalise integration thinking and practices throughout the organisation.
- Collaborate with the CIO and leadership to design and mature an EA function that is renowned for its integration expertise and impact (e.g., fusion teams, federated delivery initiatives).
- Modernise technology portfolios and develop roadmaps with integration capabilities at the centre, aligning architecture activities across programmes, projects, and products.
- Conduct integration-focused gap analyses and create IT roadmaps reflecting ecosystem readiness for API, data pipeline, and hybrid connectivity integration.
- Recommend and implement improvements to IT environments, championing scalable, secure, and reusable integration frameworks and best practices.
- Define and govern minimal viable architectures, integration standards, reference patterns, and guardrails (e.g., API gateways, event buses, hybrid cloud connectors).
- Enable agile teams to innovate within a "freedom-in-a-box" framework, bounded by integration principles and policies.
- Ensure delivery teams adhere to enterprise integration standards, accelerating time-to-market while safeguarding architecture integrity.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and operations teams to address advanced integration scenarios (e.g., IoT, edge computing, multi-cloud architectures).
- Master's or bachelor's degree in business, computer science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 8 years' experience in enterprise architecture, strategic planning, or business analysis, with a demonstrated focus on integration leadership.
