English Teacher

Veritas Education are working with a mainstream secondary school within the Leeds area who are looking for an English teacher to start as soon as possible. The school are looking for a long-term cover, to start March 2026 till the end of the academic year.

Throughout this teaching role, you will deliver engaging, passionate and inclusive lessons to help all students access all aspects of their English curriculum, and thrive within the learning environment.

The Role:

• Responsible for foundation level, GCSE and A-Level English teacher cover, with allocated PPA time across the role.
• Ensure lessons are planned, prepared and delivered at an appropriate level to the class being taught to maintain student engagement and academic progress.
• Follow classroom management and behaviour policies, to ensure a safe, inclusive and undisrupted learning environment for students to thrive in.
• Mark and assess completed work for all classes, providing appropriate feedback and constructive feedback on where students can progress and improve.
• Be confident delivering engaging lessons to range of different age groups and abilities.

All applicants must hold a valid QTS and have direct experience teaching English across GCSE and A-Level too.
