We are working with a large, well-established secondary academy in the Walsall area to appoint an English specialist for a 6 week placement from January.
This is a forward thinking academy within a national multi academy trust, known for clear behaviour systems, strong leadership presence, and a structured approach to teaching and learning. The school serves a diverse community and places a strong emphasis on consistency, routines, and high expectations.
The Role- Teaching English across KS3 and KS4
- Full teaching responsibility, including planning and marking
- Well resourced English department with shared schemes of work
- Supportive on site leadership and pastoral structures
- Clear behaviour policy that is consistently applied across the school
- QTS preferred, however the school is open to strong instructors
- Minimum 6 months' experience teaching English long term
- Confident with planning, delivery, and marking
- Calm, resilient, and consistent classroom presence
- Comfortable working in a structured, high expectations environment
- A busy but well organised school day
- Pupils who respond well to clear boundaries and routine
- Strong senior leadership visibility
- A professional, no nonsense culture focused on progress and outcomes
- An experienced supply or long term English teacher
- An instructor looking to gain experience in a large academy setting
- Someone seeking a short, defined placement with clear expectations
