English Academic CoachCan you help KS4 pupils sharpen their English skills and build confidence before exam pressure takes hold? Are you looking for a school-based route that starts with intervention work and leads towards teacher training? English Academic Coach Temp to Perm - Starts September 2026 £90 - £125 per day initially 'Good' secondary school, Edgbaston Opportunity to train as an English TeacherThe Role: Join the English department to support KS4 pupils through 1:1 and small-group intervention in reading, writing, analysis, and exam preparation. You will reinforce lesson content, build pupil confidence, and work closely with teachers so you can develop the classroom presence needed for the next step into training.The Candidate: You are articulate, organised, and able to explain ideas clearly in a way pupils understand. You want proper secondary school experience, you enjoy helping students improve in English, and you see this as a genuine route into teaching rather than another stop-gap role. Official Department for Education guidance says there are several routes into teaching in England, including school-based and salaried options, and QTS is needed to teach in most maintained schools in England.Requirements
- Degree - A 2:2 or above in any subject.
- Communication - Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
- Enhanced DBS - Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
- Desire to work in education/with children - Genuine interest in supporting pupil progress and wellbeing.
- Career Goals - A desire to train as a teacher and build a long-term career in education.
