Responsibilities- Lead and shape the modelling team, managing a diverse group of scientists, modellers and engineers responsible for developing models and the simulation platform at the heart of our digital twins.
- Drive team members' professional development, take responsibility for the team's deliverables, and ensure milestones are met while advancing modelling.
- Collaborate with other engineering teams as well as product and business development to align the team with business objectives; engage with external stakeholders including customers, partners, and academic institutions as opportunities arise.
- Grow a team of motivated engineers through proactive career development, coaching, and empowerment; play a key role in performance and promotion reviews.
- Understand business and product goals, functional and non-functional requirements, architecture, modelling approaches, and technologies that drive the team's work.
- Plan, track, and report work to ensure the team delivers effectively against business goals.
- Apply modelling, simulation, and software engineering experience to break down complex problems into pragmatic, straightforward solutions.
- Own and refine the modelling, engineering, and agile practices of the team; forge and maintain relationships with partners and academic institutions to remain at the forefront of modelling and simulation.
- Proven commercial experience, ideally in a startup environment.
- Proven hands-on experience in modelling, simulation, digital twin technology, or AI/ML.
- Experience leading a customer-focused technical team with a track record of delivering solutions that delight the customer or end user.
- Ability to pragmatically balance delivery and quality, adapting focus based on project requirements.
- Strong network with relevant academic institutions is ideal.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with technical team members and internal stakeholders; ability to develop working relationships and manage stakeholders effectively.
- Experience as an experienced people manager with a clear focus on developing and growing the team.
- Strong understanding of engineering best practices, including agile methodologies.
