Job Description

Job Title: Data Centre Engineering Supervisor
Location: Slough

Overview

A leading global provider of critical facilities management is seeking a Data Centre Engineering Supervisor to join their team in Slough. This is a key role in ensuring the reliable operation of building services, infrastructure, and critical systems within a high-availability environment.
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, oversee maintenance operations, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and operational standards. You will manage a team of engineers, act as the escalation point for technical issues, and play a central role in training, audits, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and develop a team of engineers.
  • Allocate workloads, manage time, and oversee costs for maintenance activities.
  • Ensure critical engineering services and data centre operations achieve 100% availability.
  • Act as the technical lead for day-to-day maintenance, subcontractors, and support teams.
  • Operate as an HV Authorised Person and manage change control processes.
  • Oversee permits, method statements, risk assessments, and technical documentation.
  • Support compliance with statutory maintenance, health & safety, and risk management processes.
  • Provide technical guidance, reports, and input into client meetings.
  • Drive cultural and safety standards through mentoring, coaching, and leadership. 
  • Recognised electrical qualifications (Apprenticeship, HND, C&G).
  • 18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations (essential).
  • Proven experience in critical environments/data centres.
  • Strong understanding of UPS, standby power, and critical cooling systems.
  • Management experience with the ability to train and mentor engineers.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to perform under pressure.
  • Knowledge of BMS, HVAC, and water hygiene (L8) desirable.
  • IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety training.
  • Proficient in MS Office and familiar with technical compliance platforms.
